Christmas greetings

This is the time of the year when family, friends and loved ones gather to celebrate Xmas in the spirit which demands humanity’s eternal guest for sharing, harmony and peace.
It calls upon us to open our hearts to the less fortunate with compassion and generosity.
As difficult and overwhelming it has been to watch the unsettled world around us in the past months, I have been inspired by stories of people volunteering in the community, helping those in need. Remarkably, a time that kept us apart, has in many ways brought us together.
The Covid-19 pandemic presented uncertainties and great challenges before us. Our personal, professional and community lives went virtual overnight and we truly entered into the world of technology.
During this time of isolation, family and friends became more important than ever, community became more important than ever and we became more aware of what’s important in our lives.
So, we had to innovate, find new ways to keep in touch, create new platforms and programs to maintain a certain level of normalcy during this emotional roller coaster.
I am very proud of this community and I would like to thank you, Minnesota Hungarians members, Board members, MISI school teachers, parents, volunteers and friends here and far, for your support, hard work and dedication throughout these past two years. You have made a difference and improved the lives of others.
Unfortunately, for so many of us this time of the year will be shadowed by the sadness of mourning the loss of a loved one. We shall remember those who are no longer with us and cherish their memories in our hearts.
Let this Christmas, the holiday of light – the spirit of selflessness, hope and above all love – guide us in the times ahead.
I wish you all a safe and lovely holiday season and happier New Year!
