Welcome to the Minnesota Hungarians Kids Club website!

6.) February 7. 2009.

Today we celebrated Farsang. We made masks, wear costumes. Gyöngyi showed pictures about Farsang, how people celebrate it, and told stories. We learned a new song, and made big noise with musical instruments to scare the winter away. We listened to a story (Bartos Erika: Farsang az óvodában/Farsang in the Kindergarten). We learned the Chicken Dance. Everybody enjoyed it. After that everybody showed his/her costume.

Bela was Indiana Jones, Péter was batman, Ákos was Zorro, Sophie was a little flower, Sári was a princess, Anna was a princess as well, Dávid was a policeman, Emese was a witch, Ibolya was a little baby, and Zsolti was a Jamaican. We had a fánk eating contest too. The winner among the little ones was Dávid, among the bigger ones was Zsolti, and among the adults was Réka.

Thanks for Amy for the delicious Hungarian 'Farsangi' fánk.
